So sorry to all the family of Helena Pike! One of my neighbours for years. Always a pleasure to visit with. She taught my husband Bruce & then our 3 sons! We often talked on many subjects, one being music. I’d pick her up weekly fir a few years to go practise in the evenings in the Maidstone adult band. Always had some good laughs. Waseca has lost a true legend-an awesome teacher, a great community member and historian. Over the years my siblings and I have shared many memories of her and those have been brought to the forefront on word of her passing. She always said she was 99 and almost made it! One of a kind for sure and she will be greatly missed. To all of her family unfortunately none of us will be there for her service but please know we’re thinking of you Rob, Laurie, Rick, Dara and Randy Douglas

Helena was a wise woman! She attended our retired teachers’ group in Lloydminster, and always asked good questions. When I attended the provincial annual meeting of retired teachers with her, she “showed me the ropes”, and was a leader. Condolences to her family and friends!

I had Mrs Pike as a teacher. I really enjoyed her teaching . She really inspired me. A great lady. She was so many things to so many people. She will be missed.
