While enjoying the off seasons of farming, you could find Laurie hosting and entertaining friends at the family farm, spending time at the family cabin hoping to catch his limit, or exploring other beautiful countries in the world with his wife and closest travel friends.

Laurie will be deeply loved and dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Laurie will be confirmed at a later date.

Donations in memory of Laurie may be made to ALS of Alberta or to the donor's charity of choice.

A Tribute to My Son

These past few months have made me reflect on times when you played such a big role in my life.  You have been my support, my friend, my life.

I remember receiving, without fail, a phone call from you on my birthday every year, no matter where in the world you might be.  Our Friday chats were a highlight of my week.  Watching the Kentucky Derby with you on-line, as well as ball games were always sure to raise discussion, especially when certain plays were in question.  And, oh, the music you could play!  Heaven has surely gained a talented soul.

I will always remember those special Mom and Son dances.  It was always a pleasure for me to have those times, just you and me.

Although it breaks my heart to let you go, I know that you tried so hard to stay with us, even though it was not meant to be.  You struggled and fought so hard with your illness.  We will miss you and love you always.  Those who bloom in the hearts of others will never fade away.

May you rest in peace, my son; your struggle is over.  God has taken you home.

With much love, Mom
