Dear Kim, Kelly, Clair, Aline, Yvette, Colette and Yves
I was so very sorry to hear about Leonie’s passing. Some of my fondest memories of her stem back to the 60s when we would visit the Normand family on their North Shore farm outside of Bonnyville.
It was always a treat to play with our cousins on the haystack, collect eggs, feed the pigs and chickens, watch the cows at milking time and swim in the lake. What really stands out in my mind is that Leonie and Aline could already cook meals on the family’s wood-burning stove. I was maybe around 6 or 7 years old and they would have been in their early teens, but already so grown-up. I’ll never forget how much fun they had together singing “Love Potion Number 9”. Whenever I hear that song now, my mind brings me right back to that wonderful time.
Leonie was a very dear cousin to me and I’m sure she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Rest in Peace now, dear Leonie.
