Obituary of Kaylee Crookedneck

Kaylee Marie Crookedneck passed away in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the age of 32 years.

Kah peh nekan nepowit iskwew  (Kaylee Marie Crookedneck) was born in Loon Lake. Saskatchewan on July 9, 1990 to Karen Carter and Darryl Crookedneck.

Kaylee enjoyed cooking for her children and was always trying new recipes she found. She was always busy keeping them entertained with crafts, cooking or exploring on walks to the park or going for bike rides. They were her whole reason for being and would do anything for them.  Kaylee was learning and embraced our traditional cultural ways and was overjoyed when she and the kids received their traditional names. Her mom and Her step father Aron always encouraged Kaylee to turn to our Ceremonies and traditional ways.

Kaylee had an amazing sense of humor that she and her siblings all shared, when they all got together they were always laughing, joking or roasting each other.  She was a very empathetic and loving person and would always give more than what she afford to help out anyone who needed it as that is how she was a person.

Kaylee leaves behind her children; Harmony, Johnny, Gina, Garrett, Addison, Miracle and her special baby boy Aiden; mother, Karen Carter; step father, Aron Albert;  father, Darryl Crookedneck; siblings, Marvena (Mike), Larissa (Blair), Darry (Maxena), Steven and Alizah; half sisters,  Keisha Gardipy and Jaylene Pahtayken.

Kaylee was predeceased by: her maternal grandparents, John Carter and Evangeline Codd Moyah;  paternal grandparents, Peter and Maria Crookedneck;  a baby girl, Cherish;  maternal chapans, Abraham and Marie Carter, Marcel Moyah and Ann Houle Moyah; paternal chapans, Robert and Maggie Crookedneck and Daniel and Florence Ooseemeemow; uncles, Greg, Arnold, Clayton, Curtis (Delia) Darius (Gail) Harold, Emile, Clifford, Lorne, Jerry, Stuart (Donna); aunts, Marvena, Elaine (Dean), Shannon (Colin), Gineen, Albert (Alan) Juleen, Rona and Joanne; numerous nephews, nieces  and relatives; and all the grandmother's and grandfather's who helped her along the way.

Kaylee will always be remembered as a loving caring mother, daughter, sister, Auntie and cousin and friend.
