BIOGRAPHY SAND ~ Lenis Lyle Sand passed away peacefully at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the age of 69 years. Lenis will be sadly missed by his brother Ron and Eileen Sand of Lloydminster; sister Beverly Jones of Camrose; son Randy Sand of Calmar; daughters: Tammy and (Scott) Busch of Edmonton, Bonnie Sand of St. Albert; grandchildren: Tyson and Danielle Busch, Caitlyn Busch; one great grandson Owen Busch; one nephew Dave and Lori Sand and their children: Alyssa and Paynton. The funeral service was conducted at the Zion Lutheran Church, Dina District, Alberta on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Howard Ulmer officiating. The tribute was given by David Sand. The hymns sung were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Bringing In The Sheaves" accompanied on the piano by Virginia Cole. The honorary pallbearers were Sherman Djuff, Stanley Djuff, Albin Sjoquist and Kermit Veltikold. The active pallbearers were Kenneth Nelson, Ard Vold, Edwin Sand, Dave Sand, Aaron Sjoquist and Russell Jacobs. The interment was held at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A very special thanks to the nurses and staff at Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre for their continuous care and compassion towards Lenis during his time there. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements Donations in memory of Lenis may be made to the Dr. Cooke Equipment Fund or to a charity of the donors choice.
