There was always a smiling face and a big wave from the truck cab, when Lyle drove into our farmyard to haul grain. He sometimes stopped to check out the garden, and to discuss a potential perennial plant exchange or give some gardening advice he'd gleaned from Ruth. Jean remembers how pleased he was when she asked after Kim and Chelsea- he always liked a chance to brag a little about his nieces.

I am a very close friend of Lyle's spouse and although we never had the opportunity to meet, I was able to chat with Lyle and get to know him a little over the last several months. I watched my best friend fall in absolute love with a wonderful, kind, funny, and sweet man. I witnessed how love should be... The love that Lyle and Jenn shared was absolutely inspiring, and Lady just adored Lyle too. I am sending all my love and prayers to those who knew Lyle.

We were hauling cows out of the pasture one September day so nobody was in their “Sunday Best” attire. Here comes Lyle & Glen with the semi’s to pick up the cows. My mom was walking across the pasture to talk to them when Lyle yelled “Halloween isn’t for another month Rose!” We all had a good laugh on that one. Gonna miss the giggles without Lyle around.

I’ve known and called Lyle friend for 20 years. He never missed an opportunity to laugh or joke with anyone. His heart was big and his kindness never failed. He was always there to help whenever needed. He will be missed but never forgotten. His laugh could turn a bad day into a good one in a blink of an eye. Rest well old friend. You were a blessing to all that knew you.

Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to know Lyle as well as I would have liked to, but in the time I did know him; he was always happy and kind and most importantly he made my Mom happy. He will be missed.

Lyle, the man who could warm any heart with his gentle humor, was so much more than kind. He did not just love; he embodied it. His wise-cracks were a solace for many heavy hearts. Condolences to you all. Such a nice man he always was when we spoke. The last time i saw him, i had received tomatoe plants from a friend and he saw them and we had a long conversation about planting them to make the plant strong. I did learn something from him that day. He was always smiling and kind. He will be missed.
