I was so saddened to hear of Gail’s passing. My condolences go out to the whole family. She was such a vibrant & loving person. I sure enjoyed our trip when we went to Ireland & Scotland. She loved to walk & when we walked I practically had to run to keep up with her. She was a very fast walker & always had a purpose in life. Rest in peace

Dear Colleen and Kelsey and to all of Gail’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. Colleen and Kelsey, to lose your mom is monumental in one’s life. May your memories keep you warm, and may she Rest In Peace. Colleen, I forwarded your mom‘s obituary to Blake so he also knows that your mother has passed away. God bless

To Kelsey, Coleen and family along with the Powers Family
My deepest sympathy goes out to you all with regards to the passing of your Mom and sister. When I attended school in Kitscoty I had Gail as a teacher for a few classes and really enjoyed her. She was strict but you knew if you gave it your best she could see the effort and would reward you with good marks. In later years when we met each other in Lloydminster she would call me by name and always had time for a quick visit to see how things were going with me. I will miss those visits with her. Gail, may you bike among the angels and see the world from a different view now.
Cheris your memories that you have as they will bring you peace during this difficult time.

She beamed from ear to ear talking about her family and was so very proud of you girls and the grandkids! I will miss our monthly visits greatly! Gail was one of my favourite teachers in Kitscoty and I have lots of memories from Home Ec class. As an adult, I loved running into Gail at the running track or around town and hearing of her cycling adventures. My condolences to you all.

I was fortunate enough to know Gail when I began my teaching career in the late seventies. She welcomed me on staff and was my mentor for the first two years of my teaching experience at Kitscoty.I have to say that her fine example impacted the next twenty eight years of my teaching career. Her practical, caring acceptance of all her students, her ability to change and adapt, inspired many and in the truest sense she was a life long learner. But if Gail was a devoted and inspirational teacher, if you were fortunate enough to call her family, she showered you with a fierce and tender love. I can visualize her face as it lit up talking about her kids and her sibs. She was the best listener, to this stranger in a strange land she was never too busy to lend and ear or give advice. I think Gail really understood “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly:what is essential is invisible to the eye” Ste-Exupery. My condolences to all her family. Those of us who were fortunate to have her shine her light on us will hold the memories dear.
