We were so sorry to hear of Billy’s passing! He was a family friend and we have many wonderful memories of him and his family. He was also a very special part of the community of Sturgis and particularly Grace United Church. When he moved to Lloyd we all missed his big smile and wonderful sense of humour! Our deepest sympathy to Carol & family.

Billy and I were great buddies. When he saw me he always used to ruffle my hair. He did it one day in church in view of his sister. She immediately told him you should never do that to a lady. He just grinned. The next time he saw me he reached out his hand to ruffle my hair and then quickly withdrew it before he did it. That became his ritual…. Pretend to ruffle.
This memory is from Leanne McDonald a Sturgis friend.
