Obituary of Ernest "Roy" Slack

Ernest "Roy" Slack passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer, AB on November 19, 2023 at the age of 74 years.

Roy was born November 17, 1949 in Lloydminster, SK to Margaret Caroline Slack (nee Thornton) and Wilfred Roy Slack of Kitscoty, AB.

Roy met Jane and Jimmy in fall of 1977. They started their life together in February of 1978. Chris was born in December of  '78 and his sister, Cari, in September of '84. Roy was a "Jack of all trades" but his real passion was driving. Roy spent most of his working career with Gibson's as a driver and heavy duty mechanic. Roy's biggest passions in life were fishing and camping with family and friends. He had so much love for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roy's love did not stop with his family, it extended to all children's and grandchildren's friends as well.

Roy is survived by: his loving wife, Jane; son, Chris; daughter, Cari; grandchildren, Melinda, Breeanna, Jimmy, Ryzea, Holden, Kaylen and Amelia; siblings, Betty Rohla, Jim Lane, Ivan (Lillian) Slack, and Warren (Joanne) Slack; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Roy is predeceased by: his son, Jimmy; parents, Wilfred and Margaret Slack; parents-in-law, Elmer and Doris Martin; and brother, Alan Lane.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Blackfoot Hall, Blackfoot, AB on Saturday, December 9th from 1 - 5 PM.
