Obituary of Cecile Lewis

Cecile Lewis passed away at St. Walburg Health Complex, St. Walburg, Saskatchewan on December 18, 2023 at the age of 91 years.

Cecile Lewis leaves behind: her children, Stella Lewis, Leonard (Dianna) Lewis, Owen Lewis, Karen (Conrad) Lewis, Gerry Lewis, Daniel (Veronica) Lewis; step-son, Ralph (Maxine) Chief; spiritually adopted son, Dennis Carter; grandchildren, Ricky, Nicholas, Nikita, Evan, Robin, Scott, Mitchell, Felicia, Todd, Jacob, Josh, Simon, Zachary, Zoey, Danika, Michelle, Jenna, Shelby; and her honey, Bradley; chapans, Chanel, Dematre, Tytus, Romeo, Jada, Aurora, Danesha, Callia, Luvaya, Legacy, Ayzden, Vaughn, Nikosis, Sophia, Jude, Noah, Violet, Rylin, Willow, Asher, Felix, Ada, and 8 more beloved chapans; great chapans, Jayce and Leaira; and  numerous nieces and nephews.

Cecile Lewis is predeceased by: her husband, Albert Lewis (2007); parents, Pat and Minnie Partridge; son, Dennis (1961); baby girl; sisters, Marie, Clara Rose and Katie; brothers, Sam, Joe, and Billy; grandson, Michael (1998); and granddaughter, Sara (1999).

Cecile was a very quiet and humble woman. She and her husband worked extremely hard at making life comfortable for their family. They worked for local farmers, as well as their own farmstead. Cecile grew gardens and raised animals. She would pick medicinal plants, berries, and go round dancing and attending pow wows. The main joys of her life were her grandchildren and chapans. When she had to enter a senior facility, she would look forward to seeing her great chapan Jayce or Napesisis as she called him. She will be greatly missed by everyone!
