Obituary of Stephen Lacusta
Stephen Ansley Lacusta, born Dec 6, 1954 in New Westminster BC, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Maidstone Health Complex.
Stephen was a loving husband, brother, uncle, step-father, friend to many and passionate Boston Bruins fan. He lived many years in Whitehorse Yukon and will be missed by a countless number of friends and family.
Stephen's desire to help others and always give his best was evident in all the amazing things he did for everyone. His role as family historian and extensive knowledge will benefit many future generations. He was the glue that connected his extensive family by reminding them of events and important dates. The final resting locations of many ancestors are known today as a result of his diligent and persistent research. The records he kept will be a legacy he can be proud of.
Stephen was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Lacusta and Eleanor Rose Hender; brother, Brooks (2006); nephew, Corbett (in early childhood).
Stephen is survived by: his wife, Betty Dekker; step daughters, Amber and Meckenzie; lifetime greatest friend, Cindy Hogan and her son Blair (Jesse); four siblings, Dani, Leslie (Jack), Alex, and Todd (Kellie); six nieces and nephews, Patricia, Joey, Kreg, Ashley, Erik and Devon.
There will be no formal service. Donations in memory of Stephen may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
