Penney and family. We are sad to have been unable to attend Doug's funeral today. We watched it on video and were reminded of what a wonderful person Doug was. Your family is so fortunate to have him as a teacher, provider and role model.
He is missed.

Dear Penney, Brady, Kacey, Rob, Pat and families,
I’m so sorry and sad we can’t be at the funeral to help pay tribute to Doug. I feel so privileged and blessed to be able to call Doug, and all of you, lifelong family friends, and extremely blessed to have grown up in Marwayne, spending as much time at the Ford’s, as I did at home. They were special years. Doug was truly the best of the best. Such a gentleman, soft spoken, so humble and kind, generous with his time and resources, and always there for his community, without the recognition. Reading all the wonderful Facebook messages these past few days, says it all …. he made such a difference to so many. The world was a better place with him in it! Heaven has gained another angel. We will miss you Doug. Sending you our love, hugs and deepest sympathy.

Penney and family. Doug was the kind of man, friend and leader that we all aspired to be like. He set the gold standard for how one should treat others, listen, offer friendship, and share in life's successes. Taken far too early, but a life that brought many of us to a better place. Thank you for sharing Doug with our community and may you cherish his memories, while watching him shine through his children and grandchildren, for years to come.

Penney and family, sending you warmest hugs and sincere condolences on the passing of Doug. Always such a kind and generous man and community supporter. Through Riverhill he employed so many and contributed greatly to the economy of the Marwayne community. This memory comes to mind.. When I started the Marwayne “About Town Newsletter”, I offered only Doug the single advertising spot on the front page as I thought he epitomized community. He will surely be missed by many. More hugs. ♥️
