Obituary of Leroy Opissinow
Leroy Albert Brian Opissinow was born on a cold, blizzardy day on the road to Paradise Hill Hospital on January 11, 1969. Leroy was the only son of Florence and the late John George Opissinow and the only brother of seven sisters. Leroy leaves behind four sons and three grandchildren.
Leroy was our only brother and the apple of Daddy and Mommy’s eye. He could get away with everything.
Leroy enjoyed meeting people, and he had so many friends all over. He enjoyed attending traditional gatherings and ceremonies. Leroy loved to travel until he was diagnosed with diabetes, and his health deteriorated. He did not go anywhere as much as he used to.
Leroy loved his sons very much. He always told us he was proud of them and wished the best for his sons. He was blessed with three grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed, the only son and brother. He left a void in our lives.
Leroy leaves to mourn: sons, Robbie, Larry, Jon-Luc, and Jonah; grandkids, Alistier, Aayla, and Lilly; mother, Florence; sisters, Marilyn, Vivian
(Donald), Cindy, Arlene, Denise, and his baby sister, Vanessa (Rodney).
Leroy is predeceased by his sister, Beverly Carter (2021); nephew, Devin Belly (2021); nephew, Brendan Lee Carter (1996); dad, John George Opissinow (1978); grandpas, Albert Waskewitch (1978), Charlie Chief (1978), and Ernest Dillon Jr. (2013); grandmas, Mary Anne Chief (1986), Caroline Opissinow (1991), and Lena Carter (2019).
