Obituary of Rose Gannaw

Rose Marie Gannaw passed away at Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, AB on May 5, 2024 at the age of 95 years.

Rose was born on January 10, 1929 to Christian and Amelia Fischer. She was raised on the family farm south of Macklin and attended Siefert School until grade 8 at which time she stayed home to help her parents on the farm. In 1959, she married Paul Mari. At first they lived on a farm north of Lloydminster. After a couple years they moved into Lloydminster. Rose worked at Lloydminster Hospital for some years. She lost her husband, Paul, in February 1998. She then met and married her second husband, George Gannaw. George passed away in 2013. Rose lived a quiet life. She was proud to have been able to plant and look after a garden until she turned ninety. She loved to dance, listen to old time music on the radio and to play Bingo. Some of her happiest times were spending time with her family. At family functions, Rose could be found having a great visit. Often her giggle could be heard as she had a mischievous nature. Rose remained in her own home until she moved into Dr.Cooke Extended Care in recent years.

Rose leaves to mourn: her long time companion, Joe Pollmann; sisters, Theresa Hauck, Pauline Oborowsky; sister-in-law, Adeline Fischer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends..
