I will never forget the day I met the young girl, fresh to the scene of EHWS the same year I had arrived and never could I have imagined the impact she would play in my life. She was a genuinely beautiful soul and I’m incredibly proud of the woman she became. You taught me so much about self-love and supporting others, Bindy. Those late nights during UTH events have always evoked a strange sense of nostalgia and I’m glad we could share them together - those dusty rural roads that lead into the heart of a compassionate community will forever hold lingering remnants of the memories we made illuminated by the sun above and the light of God’s grace. For someone who proclaims her absolute love of all things lingual, I just can’t seem to find the right words to express that I’ll miss you and there’s no way I could ever forget you. Even if we had our teenage angst driven arguments, we always had the sensibility to “get over it” (whatever it was) and hug it out after. (Even though there were some days ….. haha) Belinda, your love for life, the Lord and all things around you will be forever missed. It’s been 14 years since we spent any real time together but thankfully we had social media to continue to connect on and seeing your Snapchat bitmoji from this point on will be a cathartic reminder of all the time we’ve spent and all that we’ve missed out on in each other’s lives. Your service was lovely and I’m sure you’d have been just tickled to know you were loved by so many people. Don’t let it go to your head though, okay? Can’t be getting too entitled up there or God might kick ya back down here with the rest of us heathens! ;) I’m kidding. This seems to be more of a personal note to Belinda; I do apologize if it breaks social etiquette to do so but I just felt like it was important and I needed the chance to say goodbye in a way that was more tangible than texting an unmonitored account I guess…
My love, thoughts and prayers to your family during this time and I swear if you’re not wearing flip flops if we ever meet in heaven, I’ll know I’m in hell because 100% you wore those year long and I still to this day will never understand HOW.
