Dear Ben, Carol, Neil and Crystal,
Our hearts are broken!
The loss of our very special friend has left us with a huge void in our lives!
Ian has known Ken for pretty much most of his life and I got to know Ken when I started dating Ian in 1974. Ken, Donna and Ben became a huge part of our lives and we spent a ton of time sharing wonderful memories! Our children loved and respected Ken & Donna and they grew up calling them Uncle and Auntie and they still do. They always asked how Uncle Ken was, since we moved from McLaughlin to Sherwood Park in 2014. They were always concerned about him, especially after Donna passed away almost 10 years ago.
Anyone who knew Ken would know that he was the most giving, compassionate, empathetic, kind hearted and wonderful man!!! He was always ready to give you a hand at the drop of a hat and did it without expecting something in return. Now that's a true friend!!! The years of sharing stories, jokes, coffee chats, playing cards and board games, camping together, ski-doing for hours on end, tobogganing/tubing on the hill that Ken took so much pride in, was such a fun time and he radiated with joy as people gathered with their families on that hill. The best part was the ski-dos would take you back up the hill so they could do it all over again.
We missed you when we moved but always tried to stay in touch and now we miss you even more because you have gone to your heavenly home. To have had the honor to know Ken and have him involved in our lives, will be remembered and cherished forever!!!
Rest in Peace Ken and we know that you and Donna are together again "Forever" and that makes our hearts so happy!!!
Till we meet again,
Forever and Always,
Love,
Ian and Marilyn Parsons

Cousin Kenny always had a smile, loved to tease, always considerate, thoughtful and humble. I’m glad he had people he cared about sharing his life. You will be missed.

Kenneth, like a grandfather to me, radiated kindness and wisdom, his spirit always lively and adventurous. I had the privilege of sharing eight beautiful years with him; three spent under one roof which remain among the most coursing memories of my life. We built much more than projects—we built bonds unexplainable by mere words. A part of me went hunting too when Ken took me on that first trip—I'll never forget how we laughed after I excitably shouted 'Deer!' His absence is deeply felt; his memory, eternally cherished.

Ben and family, I’m so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. He was the kindest and sweetest man. He was always a constant in my life growing up and I have nothing but wonderful memories of him. I never saw him angry…even when I jack knifed a tractor and trailer in the field when he was teaching me to drive it. He was just concerned that I was ok. I always felt loved and cared for whenever he was around and for that I can’t thank him enough. He gave the best hugs and I know that he will be missed by all that had the blessing of knowing him.
Ben, I’m keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and sending you love.

Sorry to hear of Ken’s passing..We always greeted each other with “Hi cuz!” We had a great visit with him in the Co-op a few months ago. It took him a few minutes to recognize us BUT once he explained his medical issues, etc. we had lots of fun reminiscing about other people and relatives. Grant knew his parents before I did. I met them when they came to my mom’s funeral. My dad, Emery Nelson , and Carl and Conrad were cousins- possibly 2 nd cousins.
Condolences to all remaining relatives!
Love Grant and Linda(nee Nelson) Smith
