Obituary of Grant McKenzie

Grant Ewen McKenzie of Greenstreet, SK passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024 at Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, SK at the age of 84 years.

Grant was born on December 4, 1939 to Martin and Edith McKenzie. He was one of seven children.

Grant is survived by: sister in law, Peggy and her children, Carolyn, Warren, Lionel (Angela) and Steven; sister, Marg Priest and her children, Randa (Miles Olsen), Tim (Anita), Kelly (Kenda), Gail (Neil Carruthers), Colleen (Mike Symes); nieces, Dawn (Rick Weinhandl), Brenda Danna, Cheryl ( Andrew Leeds); sister in lawAnnette and her children, Gerri (Mark Picket), Greg (Bev), Sandy (Carolyn), Gordon; brother, Barry (Elaine) and their children, Jim (Jeannine), Jason (Tracey), Brent, Jill (Steve Nugent), Brad (Kristen); sister, Jean (Harold Friday) and their children, Cameron, Todd (Heather) and Kristi (Skye Brandon); and numerous great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

Grant was predeceased by: his parents, Martin & Edith; brothers, Ian, Hugh and George; sister-in-law, Myrtle McKenzie; brothers-in-law, Earl Priest and Lt. Ryan Scott; and niece-in-law, Virginia McKenzie.

Grant loved sports and was proud of all his teammates in hockey, baseball, curling and chuckwagons. He enjoyed his cattle, especially watching the calves run around. He enjoyed farming and having lots of laughs with his friends and family. He was known for his quick wit. Grant fought a brave fight against cancer and never complained. He enjoyed everyone who came to visit him. Grant will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

The Funeral Service for Grant will be conducted from Lloyd Exhibition, WLS Convention Centre, Lloydminster, SK on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM. If you are unable to attend in person, you may view the live streaming of the service posted on McCaw Funeral Service website under Grant's obituary at the time of service.

Donations in memory of Grant may be made to Hillmond Arena, Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation - Auxiliary Fund or Albion Cemetery.
