My deepest condolences to Hummer and the entire Gerbig family on the passing of Jake. She was an original for anyone who had the chance to get to know her! I will miss our coffee visits as they have become wonderful lake friends over the years and always enjoyed visiting with her. She had so much love for her family, kids, and grandchildren, and always expressed in her own unique way. For her grandchildren, I would like to share part of a text I shared with your Grandma as recently as a couple of weeks ago as follows after seeing Brielle up at the lake and having taught her several times over the last couple years as a sub after I retired from teaching:
Me: By the way, that grand daughter of yours that I have taught a fair number of times is really a great gal… good soul on her!
Jackie: Aww thank you..she touches my soul..being that she was my first grandchild. But I love them all so much..and thank you that is very kind for you to say..
Me: Not just saying it either…

I am so sorry to all Jackie's family and loved ones. I havent seen her in years, as we went to school together but still remember her fun loving spirit and all the shenanigans she was always willing to be a part of. Once you knew jackie you could never forget her. My heart hurts for you all. May she rest in peace.
