Blair Hennifent

Obituary of Blair Hennifent

Augustus Blair Hennifent unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 leaving his wife, Erica Hennifent of 24 years and his daughter, Hannah Hennifent to mourn his loss with both laughter and tears.

Blair was predeceased by: his grandparents; Nellie and Agustus Henniffent and Gordon and Jacqueline Young.

Blair leaves to mourn: his wife Erica; daughter, Hannah; parents, Ronald and Myrtle Henninifent; brothers, Ken (Debra) and Dean (Kelley); sister, Eunice (Orman); and five nephews, Tyler, Shane, Joshua, Alex and Riley.

Blair was born in Springdale, Newfoundland on August 7, 1972. He was raised in Beachside Newfoundland. He had the most amazing blue eyes and a smirk on his face. When you saw it you knew their was devilment going on in that head. He was planning ways to stir the pot. It was one of his favourite pastimes to sit in his shed, spin a tale and watch his friends get annoyed. He would just sit back and laugh. If it started to slow down a bit you knew Blair was right there stirring a little bit more poking, poking, poking.

Blair loved going camping with his friends and family. Now you had to be wary when you went camping with Blair, he might load that fire up full of diesel, oil and chunks of wood. He loved a big roaring fire. He also loved to go to bed and leave you all to look after that fire. Many happy memories were made.

Blair loved Newfoundland very much. He enjoyed seeing family and friends and spending time at the cabin in Southern Arm. When he was in Lloydminster, he and his friends would sit in the shed and reminisce about their lives back home, the ocean, the fishing and the adventures. It was not uncommon to walk in the shed and see them watching either Deadliest Catch or NTV news in complete silence.

When hanging out with Blair in the shed, be prepared because when you went to the shed you weren't getting in for free. He would find some job for you to do, whether it was unloading the wood from the truck or putting the wood into the fire or sweeping the floor. Blair would get you to do all the work with that twinkle and grin on his face. Nobody seemed to mind, they all did it just because it was Blair.

There isn't anybody who ever met Blair who didn’t love him. He was a gentle giant, a kind soul and he left a big void in the hearts of all who knew him

So If you’re not mad…

There will be a Celebration of Life in both Lloydminster and Beachside at later dates.

In lieu of flowers, you can make donations in memory of Blair to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
