Obituary of Vernon Burns

BIOGRAPHY BURNS ~ Vernon Douglas Burns passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the age of 26 years. Vernon will be sadly missed by his parents Douglas and Maryann Burns; brother Troy; sister Ricki and Chris; two nephews; grandparents: Vernon and Sady Burns, June Gillard; close friend Christine as well as numerous other relatives. The funeral service was conducted from the Wildrose Pavilion, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Joyce Dickson officiating. The eulogy was read by Wendy Holman and Chris Lalonde-Faucette. The urnbearer was Troy Burns. The interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. We would like to thank the RCMP, the EMT's, the air ambulance staff and the Lloyd Hospital staff that worked so hard to save Vernon and for all the compassion they showed us. Also thanks to the staff at the University Hospital in Edmonton for treating Vernon with such kindness. We thank Wendy and Chris for doing a great job with the eulogy and everything else they did for us. Thanks to Bryce and Earl for playing at the luncheon. Thanks to Kyle and Adam for putting the music together. Thanks to Jennine for sharing her memories of Vernon. Thanks to the staff at McCaw Funeral Service for all their help. Thanks to Bobbi and "The Boys" for the beautiful flowers. Thanks to all of Vern's friends for stopping in to share wonderful memories. Thanks to all the family and friends who sent cards, food and flowers. Your support was unbelievable. Special thanks to Christine and Gordie for doing so much for us at a time that was so hard for them. It's comforting to know that our son was loved by so many good people.
