Obituary of James Laidler

LAIDLER ~ James Laidler passed away peacefully at the Sturgeon General Hospital in St. Albert, Alberta on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Jim will be sadly missed by his two children: Doug Laidler of Lloydminster and Joanne Sturrock of Lloydminster, six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Jean. The funeral service was conducted from the Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Lyn Lamers officiating. The eulogy was given by Jim's grandchildren: Joel, Jordan and Danielle. The hymn sung was "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". The organist was Irene Knowlson with the Grace United Church Choir in attendance. The interment was held at the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd. of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. CARD OF THANKS Jim's family would like to thank the United Church Ladies for the lovely lunch provided. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff from the Sturgeon General in St. Albert, as well as the ambulance attendants from the Namao Base for all their help and care given to Jim. A special thank you goes out, once again, to Reverend Lyn Lamers from the United Church for all her guidance and kind words during that week. Thanks to everyone who sent cards, flowers and for the donations made to "Stars Services" in memory of Jim.
