I am so very very sorry to hear about David's passing. Although separated by time and distance these past years, I have always thought of him as one of my dearest friends - we shared a lifetime of memories together during our time in Germany together and of course off and on in Edmonton and Calgary. Our most sincere condolences to everyone who's lives he touched. We are deeply saddened and affected by this huge loss. We are also very sorry we were unaware of this until now and were unable to share in his funeral services and celebration of life. Tim Flath (and Family)

Dearest family members of David. It is with great sadness that I discovered this news on Facebook. Dave was a big part of the Flath Family, like another brother to me who always brought a smile to our faces. We loved him very much. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family...much love Dawn

Leona and family, Shari and I were shocked and saddened by the news of Dave's death... with the death of Shari's dad this summer it has given me some idea of the depth and power of the emotions released when a family loses a member, a wife her partner and the children their father. I think it is fair to say that it has been our experience that these emotions and the transformation that they create in the lives of those who grieve are as unpredictable and unsettling, as they are profound and enduring. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Walter and Shari

Dave was a great guy and will be missed by many, especially his family and children. How very sad. My deepest sympathy to all of you. What a huge loss to those who loved him. Although we'd lost touch with each other over the years, I have great memories of Dave from when we met in High River and in worked together in Lloydminster. We had some great road trips together, particularly to Vancouver and Waskasoo. I will remember Dave who really embraced the good times, loved to laugh and always seemed to have a smile. His time with us was far too short. To his childern, his family and Leona, my thoughts are with you today.
