Kula: Gabriela, Maria Passed away January 7, 2012 at the age of 84. Survived by her loving children: two daughters: Christine (Lyle), Josie (Les), two sons: Stan and Jim: Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gabriela was born in Topola Poland on January 7, 1928. She came to Canada with her late husband Jozef and 3 children in June 1965, and settled in Maidstone, Saskatchewan, where her parents were living. One year later Josie, her youngest daughter was born. She loved gardening and growing every kind of flower there was. She also loved singing and dancing, especially the "Szwinger". She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She looked after children in a daycare setting most of her life. Gabriela and Jozef moved to Lloydminster in June 1999 to be close to her daughter Josie and her family. Gabriela was a strong believer and blessed the Lord everyday and lived by her faith. On August 8, 2008 they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. In May 2008, Gabriela moved into Points West Assisted Living. There she volunteered with ladies to raise money for different needs. She enjoyed all the activities like berry picking, bowling, daily exercise and bingo. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her, especially we will miss her smile and singing. A very special thank you to the management and staff at Points West Assisted Living and Lloydminster Hospital and many doctors and nurses who made it easier for her. A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Maidstone, Saskatchewan. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Salvation Army or charity of your choice.
