Obituary of Ivan Webb

Please share a memory of Ivan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ivan Norman Webb of Lloydminster, Alberta passed away suddenly on December 22, 2008 at the age of 78 years. Ivan was born February 28, 1930 in Lashburn, Saskatchewan. His parents, Gladys and Norman Webb farmed at Paynton, Saskatchewan where Ivan grew up and spent most of his life. He married Beverly Lipsey and they raised five children on their farm ---- Randy (Margaret Yaworski), Norma (Levern Horvey), Lori (Del Griffith), Pat (Tim Wykes) and Chris (Nicole Morin), and over the years they were blessed with 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family was the joy of their lives and Ivan always had time for them and treasured each one for their many talents and was so proud of them all. Sports, community projects, travelling, music, small town togetherness, and even the ups and downs of farming, were all a part of the fabric that made his life good. When health reasons were a part of the decision to move to Lloydminster, he embraced life here with yet another circle of friends and made the most of his limited mobility ---- no more hunting, curling etc., but he could still enjoy people. Ivan was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Beverly, five children and their spouses, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, one brother Bob Webb, and many nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws. The funeral service was conducted on December 30 from the Grace United Church in Lloydminster with Rev. Sue Hertell officiating. The eulogy was given by Ivan's grandson Loel Horvey on behalf of the family. Special music was played by granddaughter Amy and her husband Isak. Grace Choir sang "In The Bulb There is a Flower". Donations in Ivan's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, Grace United Mission and Service Fund, or to the Health Foundation (Mammogram Unit). Interment will be at a later date at the Paynton Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Our family would like to thank all the wonderful people who supported us during this difficult time. So many friends with food, flowers, visits, cards, love and prayers, attendance at the service ---- overwhelming kindness from all of you was so appreciated. Special thanks to the church ladies who provided the family with the great roast beef dinner and to the group who did the funeral luncheon, right in the middle of a holiday! Thanks so Sue, the choir, and Irene at the organ. Also thanks to the kind 911 responders and the hospital folk and to the support of the staff at McCaws. Bev and family Donations in memory of Ivan may be made to the Grace United Church Mission and Service Fund, Lloydminster Hospital Mammography Machine or to a charity of the donors choice.
