BIOGRAPHY LIEBELT ~ Hilda Liebelt passed away peacefully at the Cut Knife Special Care Home, Cut Knife, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the age of 91 years. Hilda will be sadly missed by her four children: Albert and Linda Liebelt of Lloydminster, Doris and Ken Hallett of Neilburg, Keith Liebelt of Neilburg, Glenn Liebelt of Neilburg; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother; four sisters as well as numerous other relatives. Hilda was predeceased by her husband John in 1992 and her son Dennis in 1997. The funeral service was conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Mark Breitkreuz officiating. The hymns sung were "One Day At A Time" and "In The Garden" accompanied by Marlene Risling. Special music was sung by the Mennonite Choir. The active pallbearers were Albert Liebelt, Keith Liebelt, Glenn Liebelt, Ken Hallett, Duane Liebelt and Kevin Hallett. Interment took place in the Wycollar Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Hilda spent the first 3 years of her childhood in the Maple Creek area where her parents farmed. In 1920, they moved North to the Maidstone area and lived in the Dee Valley School District. In 1922, they moved to the Walter School District where she took Grade 1 to Grade 4. Then they moved to the Forest Bank District where she took the rest of her school completing Grade 8. She worked at home for a few years helping her family. She then moved to Fort San, Saskatchewan working in a laundry mat. In 1944, she married John Liebelt (he was in the army) they moved to various places in B.C. His last station was Dundrum where he was a cook. January 29, 1946 he received his discharge papers, then moved back to the Forest Bank district where he worked as a mechanic in Maidstone, then moved to Lashburn. Later they bought land in the Cozy Nook District where she lived until August 2008 when she was taken to the Maidstone hospital. November 3, 2008 moved to Cut Knife Special Care Home, where she passed away quietly in her sleep November 5, 2008. She will be sadly missed by her children: Albert and Linda, Doris and Ken, Keith, Glenn, grandchildren and great grandchildren. CARD OF THANKS The family would like to thank everyone who attended the funeral service in Lloyd, and the luncheon in Neilburg. To everyone who offered expressions of sympathy through cards, flowers, donations and food. Thank You to Pastor Mark Breitkreuz for the beautiful service. Thank You to Marlene Risling the pianist, the Neilburg Mennonite Choir for your beautiful singing. It made the service Special. Thank You to the Pallbearers (sons, son-in-law, and grandsons). Thank You Keith for a great job on the eulogy. Thank You to Pine Island Lodge and Cut Knife Care Home for taking good care of our mom. Thank You to Glenn, Dave and Dale McCaw for your kindness and professionalism. It has all been very much appreciated.
