Obituary of Howard Cayford

BIOGRAPHY CAYFORD ~ Howard "Howie" George Cayford passed away peacefully in the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the age of 74 years. Howie will be sadly missed by his wife Betty; four children: Alan and Joyce Cayford, John Cayford, Carrie Munro, Marjorie and Wayne Shymoniak; three grandchildren: Melissa Cayford and Keith McLeod, Jason Cayford and Amanda Sykes, Connor Shymoniak; mother Maude Cayford; four sisters: June and Ed Gerling, Margie Wagner, Jean and Fred Proft, Mary and Gordon Pederson; sister-in-law: Diane Cayford; as well as numerous other relatives. The funeral service for Howie Cayford was conducted from the Stockade Convention Centre, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, December 20 at 2:00 P.M. with Joyce Carson officiating. A eulogy was given by Alan Cayford. Hymns sung were "In The Garden" and "There'll Be Peace In The Valley" accompanied on the organ by Irene Knowlson. The active pallbearers were Ron Raher, Don Eger, Frank Jezowski, Tom Fisher, Jim Hunt and Gary Munro. Interment was held at the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. We would like to thank: Dr. Chan for his care and kindness during Howie's illness; Brenda Servold and the girls from Lloydminster Home Care for their compassionate support; the nurses at the Lloydminster Hospital for caring for Howie in his final days; Joyce Carson and Irene Knowlson for the comforting words and beautiful music at the memorial service; the ladies who served the lunch; John for the memorable picture presentation; and to Alan for doing such an admirable job of his dad's eulogy. Special thanks to the pallbearers; to all those who sent cards, food, flowers, and donations; and to friends who phoned and visited. Finally, we would like to thank Glenn and the staff at McCaw Funeral Service for their help and guidance.
