BIOGRAPHY
PIERCE ~ Williamina "Mina" Pierce passed away peacefully at the Vermilion Continuing Care Centre, Vermilion, Alberta on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the age of 85 years.
Mina is survived by her two sons: Jim and Lynda Pierce and Don and Elaine Pierce; eight grandchildren: Dal, Chuck, Mike, Laurie (Mike), Tracie (Bill), Jodi (Don), Craig (Tammy), Brooke (Roy); seven great grandchildren: Mitch, Morgan, Shelby, Maddison, Hannah, Arden, Jammi-Lynn (Jay); three great great grandchildren: Kabrie, Taylor, Chase; one sister Flo and Raymond McQuid as well as nephews: Allan McQuid, Larry McQuid, Dale McQuid, and Robbie McTavish.
Mina was predeceased by her husband James; her parents Alec and Mary and her sister Mary.
The funeral service for Mina was conducted from the Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sue Hertell officiating.
The hymns sung were ``Just A Closer Walk With Thee`` and ``The Old Rugged Cross`` accompanied on the organ by Irene Knowlson.
Margaret Swanstrom played ``Amazing Grace`` on the bagpipes.
Honorary pallbearers were All Those Who Shared In Mom`s Life and an Eastern Star Honour Guard.
Active pallbearers were Lauralie Bugiak, Tracie Pierce, Jodi Pierce, Craig Pierce, Brooke Pierce, Dal Pierce, Chuck Pierce and Mike Pierce.
Interment was held at the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.

Thank you to the staff at the Alice Keith Prairie House, Valley Lodge Cedar House and the Pioneer Lodge for your wonderful care of mom over the last few years. Thank you to Reverend Sue Hertell, organist Irene Knowlson, bagpiper Margaret Swanstrom and McCaw Funeral Service for the supportive service. Thank you to the many friends and family for being there for both us and mom.
