We wish we could be with you today - Ottawa seems very far away right now, but we hope that these words can reach across the miles. I have many wonderful memories of Vern, an older brother who used to give me rides to piano lessons and choir practice, or quietly slip me a few extra dollars when I was a young nurse-in-training. So many years later, I wasn't surprised to learn that during Ottawa's dreadful ice storm he had been busily trying to figure out how he could find and ship a big generator down East to me. I will miss our visits and phone calls,but I will always remember his kindness and strength, and especially his quiet sense of humour, all still evident several weeks ago even though he was desperately ill in hospital. I was lucky indeed to have Vern for a brother, and he will always remain in my heart. Love to Elinor and family June(Marklund)Adam Bas Adam
