Mary Kuzyk 1936 - 2008
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Kuzyk, after a
brief and valiant struggle with cancer, at 71 years of age, on July 31,
2008.
Mary will be greatly missed by her four children: Deb (Ray) of Nova Scotia,
Les (Dragana) of Calgary, Gerald (Kristin) of Victoria, Rick of Edmonton,
granddaughters Lily and Lana, brother Walter (Hilda) of Pierceland,
numerous members of her extended family, and her many friends.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Bill Kuzyk, her parents Mike and Pearl
Ilnesky of Leoville, and her sister Elsie Bilyk.
The memorial service was conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel,
Lloydminster, on Tuesday August 5th at 1 pm with Joyce Carson officiating.
The eulogy was given by Vi Young, with tributes from Dragana Malic and Deb
Kuzyk. Readings were by Denise Kuzyk, Les Kuzyk and Sandy Richinski. A
special song was performed by Tracey Lalonde and Sandi Richinski.
Congregational hymns were "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". There
was a graveside service on Wednesday August 6th in the cemetery in
Leoville, Saskatchewan.
Mary loved students and her teaching career as much as she loved her
retirement. She served her community for many many on the Lloydminster
Hospital Auxillary. Mary's hobbies included travel, golf, curling and
walking with her "Coffee Girls" and she touched many lives through her
involvement in these activities. Mary Kuzyk will be sadly missed by all
who knew her.
