HARRIS, Dorothy After a brief illness, Dorothy Margaret Harris passed away peacefully November 23, 2011 in the Lloydminster Hospital at the age of 87. Left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her children Linda, Joan and Glen (Carolyn); her grandchildren Ashley (Renee), Sheldon (Deena) and Stephanie; and two great grandchildren Skylar and Finley. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1999. Mum was always very active in the community - Cliffe Community Club, Kinettes, UCW, Hospital Auxiliary, Eastern Star and Neilburg Seniors. She loved to bake, especially desserts, but most remembered by her family for her biscuits. Dorothy will always be remembered in the community for the countless hours of crocheting and knitting. Mum wasn't much for watching TV, but loved her Blue Jays and curling. The funeral service for Dorothy Harris was conducted from the Neilburg Community Hall on Monday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Lorna Brick officiating. The choir sang "Amazing Grace" and recessional "In The Garden" accompanied on the organ by Joan Gibb. The active pallbearers were Jim Gray, David Gray, Ken Hallett, Brian Gibb, Grant Wightman and Tom Poppleton. Interment followed in the Neilburg Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. CARD OF THANKS The families of the late Dorothy Harris of Neilburg would like to extend a heartfelt and sincere thank you to everyone who has shared our loss. The gifts of food, flowers, the cards with special notations and memorial donations have helped us through this difficult time. Special thank you to Dean of McCaw Funeral Service, Reverend Lorna Brick for the touching service, organist Joan Gibb, Ashley and Stephanie Harris for preparing and reading the Eulogy, Tom Poppleton for his reading and memories, the community choir, the pallbearers, the U.C.W. ladies for lunch and anyone else who helped in any way. Your care and concern has touched us deeply. The family has made donations in memory of Mum to Neilburg Seniors, Neilburg United Church, Canadian Diabetes and Neilburg Bowling Alley in lieu of sending individual thank you cards to donors. Linda, Joan, Glen, Carolyn Ashley, Renee, Skylar Finley, Sheldon, Deena & Stephanie Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
