Nancy, kids .. and family, My sincerest sympathy to you and your kids on Jim's sudden passing. I am very sorry but due to short notice, and previous commitments I was unable to attend Jim's memorial. Although we lost touch over the years, I always remembered the times we spent together - working for Sedco Drilling .. and with the Energy Doctor very fondly. Jim was a good man who loved his family and friends and went out of his way to help them. We had just began communicating again over e-mail regarding the broomball reunion, and he spoke very highly of you and the kids and I could see he loved you all very much and was very very proud of you. The world is a better place from his being here .. and a thought comes to mind I heard once. "Please don't cry because I am gone ... but smile and be happy that we met and had that time together". In my belief ...he may be gone in body, but the spirit lives on .. and Jim's spirit will be walking with you all and watching over you. Len Hjelmeland

For You Brother Jim....from my heart... With the dawn of each morning and its new day In the cool dampness of the dew Each flower that glistens, from rays of light Will reflect the magnificence of you As the sun spreads its beauty throughout the day Warming the earth with its touch I will feel the embrace that each ray brings As your Life touched me that much With each wind that blows across the land Embracing that which is in its path Faintly in the distance as I listen softly I will always hear the echoes of your laugh In every sunset at the end of each day Your smile will surround the sky Each star that shines bright in the night Will be like that glint in your eye You were a treasure a gift so rare A beautiful soul so true Living life with passion and a love for all Are the gifts I will treasure from you I thank God for the Gift of you, My Friend, My Brother... Could hardly believe it when I heard. Was just talking to and teasing Jimmy 2 weeks ago at our Aunt Pat McNaughton's funeral. He was so proud of his wife and kids. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I know my sister Lenora will particulary miss him. Jim was such a good friend to so many. An intergal part of Lloydminster he touched many more lives than he probably suspected and left you feeling good.
