Helen Kirkland Nielsen
Born in Wilkie, SK on February 25, 1913
Passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Center in Lloydminster, Alberta at the age of 95 years.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Oliver, of Lloydminster; three children: Kay Patterson of Camrose, Olive Nielsen of Calgary, Bob Nielsen and his wife Colleen of Streamstown; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, two sisters: Marie Holmes of Nanaimo, Ruth Mitchell of Victoria as well as numerous other relatives.
Helen & Oliver were married in 1934, they moved to Streamstown in 1946, and then retired to Lloydminster. She will be remembered by family and friends for her love of children, her cooking, sewing and crafts. Thank you to the staff at Dr. Cooke Extended Care Center.
Funeral service was held in Lloydminster Grace United Church on May 20, 2008, Reverend Bob Aldrich officiating.
Donations may be made to the Dr. Cooke Patient Comfort Fund.
