Obituary of Jean Huard

Jean Huard passed away at home Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Jean is survived by seven children and their partners: Betty and Frank Pollard of Shaugnessy, AB; Bev and Larry Saretzky of Westbank, BC; Barb and Bryan Harrison of Lloydminster, SK; Rod and Elaine Huard of Wainwright, AB; Doug Huard of Vernon, BC; Wendy and John Sirovyak of Sherwood Park, AB; Vic Huard and Kathy Sutherland of Regina, SK. Eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Newman of Edmonton, AB; and Betty and Jim Rollison of Lloydminster, AB as well as numerous other family members. The memorial service for Jean was conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Allan Young officiating. A eulogy was given by Betty Pollard and Victor Huard. The hymns sung were "How Great Thou Art," and "The Church In The Wildwood," accompanied on the organ by Jeanette Young. Marlene Risling sang two solos "Song of Angels," and "Amazing Grace." Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Mum was beloved of the many people whose lives she touched. While she faced a life of challenges, she never complained and always did for others without asking for anything in return. She encouraged her children to explore life's opportunities and supported their decisions in whatever they chose to pursue. In her own quiet, unassuming way she leaves an extended family with an invaluable legacy of independence, of quiet and unassuming pride and, most important of all, a deep and abiding love for each and every one of us, without reservation and without judgement. The smallest person can sometimes cast the biggest shadow - we love you Mum. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the MS Society.
