B I O G R A P H Y WILKES: Blanche Elizabeth Charlotte Wilkes passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Blanche is survived by three children: Thomas Wilkes and his wife Julie of Courtney, BC; Art Wilkes and his wife Michelle of Lloydminster, Lois and her husband Bryan Dribnenkey of Lloydminster; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers: Bert Smith of Lloydminster, Tim Smith of Penticton, Bob Smith of Radway. The memorial service for Blanche was conducted from St. John’s Anglican Church, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Michael Stonhouse officiating. The hymns sung were “This Is My Father’s World,” and “Abide With Me,” accompanied on the organ by Pat Skinner. The recessional was bagpiped by Bill Cornfoot. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Royal Canadian Legion. The urnbearer was Blanche’s son Art Wilkes. Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. The family would like to express our thanks to many people. First to the 3rd floor nursing staff at the Lloydminster Hospital for your care and compassion over the last 3 months, Mom could not have been in better hands. Second to Dr. Gerber and his associates for the excellent care, we know it was sometimes not easy but Mom respected your forthrightness. Third to Canon Michael Stonhouse for your ministry, Mom looked forward to your visits. Fourth thanks to the Legion for your visits and the participation in Mom's funeral, she was proud to be a Legion member. Last but certainly not least to all the people who visited Mom, sent cards or flowers, or stopped us and gave us your best wishes and prayers Thank You. Mom also appreciated all of it. To the Ladies of the Anglican Church for the excellent lunch, and for your prayers for Mom we have a special thank you we know she was your friend as well. Thanks to Dale and all the McCaw's staff for you thoughtfulness and compassion during this difficult time, your comfort was and is greatly appreciated.
