HOLLINGTON: Charles Henry Hollington, passed away in Lloydminster Hospital on Monday November 5, 2007; at the age of 87 years. Charlie was born to Henry and Olive Hollington on January 8th, 1920. He was raised on a farm in the Irwinville community. He took over the farm from his parents in 1944 and married Elizabeth (Dora) Martin on August 14, 1946; where they farmed and raised their family until they moved to Lloydminster in 1965. Charlie leaves to mourn his passing, 5 sons, Bill of Calgary Alberta, Tom (Lorna), Ken (Cheryl), Ted (Penny), Doug (Bev) of Lloydminster and 1 daughter Ann (Randy) of Grande Prairie Alberta, Charlie also leaves to mourn his 7 grandchildren; Sheila (Lance) Schooley of Lloydminster; Jerry (Daphne) Hollington of Marwayne, Taylor Hollington of Grande Prairie, AB, Lacey Hollington of Edmonton, AB; Christopher and Mathew Hollington of Lloydminster; Jolene (Dallas) Alexandre and Justin Smith (Sarah Rainville - fiancé) of Grande Prairie, AB; Brittany and Carlie Hollington of Lloydminster; and 3 great grandchildren, Kyle Schooley and Taya & Pierce Hollington. Charlie will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Dora of 41 years in 1987, one infant son Donnie in 1951, and by his sister May in 2002. A prayer service for Charlie Hollington was conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel on Wednesday November 7, 2007 at 7:00 PM. The funeral service was conducted from the St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday November 8, 2007; with Father Jan Sobkowicz. The Hymns sung were: How Great Thou Art, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, On Eagles Wings. The soloist and organist was Pat Hanky.The readings were done by: Brittany & Carlie Hollington, and Christopher Hollington. The Honorary Pallbearers were all of the granddaughters, Sheila Schooley, Lacey Hollington, Jolene Alexandre, Brittany and Carlie Hollington and great grand children Kyle Schooley and Taya & Pierce Hollington. The Active Pallbearers were all of the grandsons: Lance Schooley, Jerry Hollington, Taylor Hollington, Dallas Alexandre, Christopher Hollington, Justin Smith, and Mathew Hollington. Card of Thanks The family of Charlie Hollington wish to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Swart, Dr. Kostic, Dr. Rogers, and the nursing staff on the third floor at the Lloydminster Regional Hospital, and all of their relatives, friends and neighbors for their love, support and kindness during the sad loss of their father, grandfather and great grandfather. Also thanks to staff of McCaw’s Funeral Home for their assistance and support. Thanks to all for their prayers and thoughts. Donations in memory of Charlie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation or to a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
