Eugene Thomas Bevan passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at the age of 60. He was born on February 21st, 1947 in Saskatoon and spent his early years on the family farm in the Bradwell District of Saskatchewan. For many years he has worked at the Bea Fisher Centre in Lloydminster. He leaves to mourn his passing: three brothers: Reginald (Carol) and Richard (Betty) of Calgary, Barry (Terry) of Cranbrook, BC; one sister Ann (Jim) Doyle of St. Brieux, SK; seven nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by: his father William John in 1956; his mother Alta Mae in 1979, one sister, Alice Jardine in 1981 and Brother William (Bill) in 1998. Funeral services were conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Major Ronald Mailman of the Salvation Army officiating. Hymns sung were “In The Garden,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Just A Closer Walk With Thee,” and “In The Sweet Bye and Bye,” led and accompanied by Major Ronald Mailman. The pallbearers were the Messrs: Barry Bevan, Richard Bevan, Reg Bevan, Lorne Rowley, Reg Jackson and George Nidish. Interment followed the service in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Lunch was served by the Knox Presbyterian Church Goodwill Group at the Knox Presbyterian Church following the interment. Special thank you to Glenn McCaw and McCaw Funeral Service Ltd. Thank you to Major Ronald Mailman of the Salvation Army, Ted Hollington for the eulogy, the Bea Fisher Centre, to the Knox Presbyterian Church and the Knox Goodwill Group, the pallbearers and all those who cared for Eugene. Donations in memory of Eugene may be made to the Bea Fisher Foundation.
