Dear Grandma, Although it has been a couple of years since I've seen you, you will always hold a special place in my heart. As your oldest grandchild, I have many memories that unfortunately, some of the other grandkids and great grandkids don't have or are too young to remember. I remember Christmas' when we were kids, using Grandpa's old wool socks as stockings. You would always put an orange inside, which we never ate! I remember one summer on an annual two-week stay, the store bought pizza you made, but forgot to take the cardboard off of. I've never seen, or eaten a u-shaped pizza, but it tasted great cause it was made with love. I remember the porcupine quill that you pulled out of my foot with pliers. I remember shelling peas and eating the ones that would fall on the floor. I remember the disgusted look you would give Grandpa when he called you "tiny", even though I know that deep down you liked it! I remember going to Fishers and the Co-op with you for fries and gravy, your big green down comforter and your big hugs when we left for home. I know your favorite flower was a rose, and everytime I see one, I will think of you. You were a very strong woman, who endured more than any of us could imagine. You will always be one of my hero's! I regret not taking time to see you more often as I grew older. I am grateful that I have these memories of you. I am grateful that my children know who their great grandmother was. I will share these and many other stories about you with them, so they know what a wonderful woman you were. We will all miss you very much. Forever in our hearts, with all our love, Valerie, Derek, Brandi, Jordan and Taylor
