BIOGRAPHY JOKI ~ Peter Joki passed away peacefully at the Maidstone Union Hospital, Maidstone, Saskatchewan on Thursday, July, 19, 2007 at the age of 77 years. Peter will be sadly missed by: his wife Grace; five children Debbie and Rodney Huber of Red Deer, Bev and Jim Kuhmayer of Lashburn, Brenda and Keith Kimball of Sylvan Lake, Donna and Allan Boechler of Stoney Plain and Glen and Teresa Joki of Lloydminster; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Eila Annala of Dinsmore and Alma Gacca of Wiseton as well as other numerous relatives. Peter was predeceased by: his parents John and Aino Joki; and two brothers: Elmer and Tauno Joki. The funeral service for Peter was conducted from the Maidstone Legion Hall, Maidstone, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Peter Yeung officiating. Hymns sung were “Amazing Grace”, “Old Rugged Cross” and “In The Garden” accompanied on the organ by Marilyn Owens. Special music was played. Interment to be held at the Maidstone Cemetery, Maidstone, Saskatchewan at a later date. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family would like to thank everyone who brought food to the house or hospital, all who visited, phoned or sent cards or flowers. A special thank you to the girls from the Twin Rivers Foundation Pine Island Lodge Building Project who served lunch after the memorial. A heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and nurses who cared for Peter Joki in both Lloydminster and Maidstone hospitals. Also thank you to Peter Yeung, the minister; Marilyn Owens, the organist and to Larry Warwaruk for the special eulogy. Donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Assocation or Charity of Choice.
