BIOGRAPHY
MCKEVITT ~ Leona Ruth McKevitt passed away peacefully at the Jubilee Home in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the age of 90 years.
Leona will be sadly missed by: her children Pat Edgar of Lloydminster, Tom and Deb McKevitt of Lloydminster, Gerard and Barb McKevitt of Lloydminster, Maureen and Ken McKay of Lac La Biche; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Ruth Christie of Lloydminster as well as numerous other relatives.
Leona was predeceased by her husband Pat; her parents Tom in 1964 and Pearl in 1944; her brothers Glen, Ross, Dan and Walt Christie and her sister Pearl Tendeck.
The prayer service for Leona was conducted from the St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
The funeral service for Leona was conducted from the St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Jan Sobkowicz officiating.
A eulogy was given by Leanne McKevitt and Kirk McKay.
The organist was Melanie Pellerin.
Active pallbearers were: Shana Kirton, Todd Edgar, Tami Smith, Dean McKevitt, Jason McKevitt, Leanne McKevitt, Julie McKevitt, Janette McKevitt, Michael McKevitt, Kiely McKay, Kirk McKay, Kolby McKay and Kristie McKay.
Interment was held at the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
Donations in memory of Leona may be made to the Palliative Care or the Jubilee Home Patient Comfort Fund.
