The eulogy was given by Don Skinner. Special music was sung by Ann Marsh accompanied by Bev and Bill Meikle. Honorary pallbearers were all her friends. Active pallbearers were: Rodney Sandwick, Doug Sandwick, Perry Crawford, Clarence Mullaly, Fraser Dudley and Edward Knowlton. Interment was held at the Turtleford Cemetery. She married Joe Graham in 1936, and they moved to the present farm location in 1948. Two children were born to them, Betty and Bud, and they raised their niece Sharon as well. Sophia and Joe farmed all their lives until they moved closer to town in the early 90`s, but still made daily trips back out to the farm. Sophia loved raising chickens of all kinds. She also loved her gardening and her flowers. She desired precision with her garden, you couldn`t leave a crooked line, but it was okay if her line was a little crooked. Sophia also loved to play bingo, going here and there with friends to play. She also loved music and especially dancing. Sophia loved to have fun, she had many friends and was good with the older folks. A special family memory is the annual trips to the Calgary Stampede, with all the family leaving right after school was done for the summer. Her children remember her as a great mother. She had ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren whom she really and truly loved. Sophia was predeceased by her mother and father, Bob and Selma Crawford, two sisters Ruth and Ruby, one brother George and her husband Joe. She is survived by her children and their families: Betty and Jerry Ellis, Bud and Bev Graham, and Sharon and John Mercier, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one sister Edith and Oliver Sandwick, one brother Jim and Orpha Crawford. The family would like to thank the pallbearers, Don Skinner, Ann Marsh, Bill and Bev Meikle and the ladies who organized the lunch. The family would also like to thank everyone for all their kind words and thoughts at this time. Donations in memory of Sophia may be made to the Riverside Health Complex.
