B I O G R A P H Y PILLING: Lyla May Pilling passed away in the Riverside Health Complex, Turtleford, Saskatchewan on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the age of 96 years. Lyla is survived by: six sons, four daughters, forty grandchildren, seventy-eight great grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-great grandchildren. Lyla was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Henry, her parents, three brothers, two sisters, two grandsons, one great granddaughter and one son-in-law. The funeral service for Lyla Pilling was conducted from the Livelong Community Hall, Livelong, Saskatchewan on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. conducted by Leland Pilling. A eulogy was given by Grandson Brent Pilling. Ushers were grandchildren: Starla Denny, Sandra Sommerfeld and Sever Rose. Special music “Where The Roses Never Fade,” was played by Wilfred and Darlene Hamm. Hymns sung were “The Old Rugged Cross,” and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee,” accompanied on the organ by Darlene Kivimaa. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Lyla’s life. Active pallbearers were Grandsons: Dwayne Pilling, Floyd Jorgenson, Arthur Rose, Jason Pilling, Jeff Pilling and Gordon Maynard. Interment followed in the Turtleford Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family of Lyla Pilling would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors of the Riverside Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to our mother in the sixteen months she was a resident. To Lillian Nasby, thank you for your kindness and care. To Leland Pilling for conducting the service - thank you. Thank you to the organist Darlene Kivimaa and to Wilfred and Darlene Hamm for their singing. To Lyla’s grandchildren: Brent Pilling for reading the eulogy; Starla Denny, Sandra Sommerfeld and Sever Rose for being ushers; Dwayne Pilling, Arthur Rose, Floyd Jorgenson, Jason Pilling, Jeff Pilling and Gordon Maynard for being pallbearers. Thank you for the visits, food, cards and flowers that were received by the family. To the Livelong and area ladies, thank you for the lovely lunch served after the funeral. A big thank you to Dale and Dave McCaw and McCaw Funeral Service for administering the funeral. The Lyla Pilling Family Donations in loving memory of Lyla may be made to the Riverside Health Complex Resident Fund.
