B I O G R A P H Y PROTSCH: Marlene Hildegarde Protsch passed away in the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Center, Lloydminster, Alberta on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the age of 67 years. Marlene is survived by: her loving husband Garry; two children: Julie and Kim Schau of Saskatoon; Parry and Jennifer Protsch of Calgary; five grandchildren, one brother Werner Wennekamp and his wife Chris and one brother-in-law Rudy Jurke; her mother-in-la two sisters-in-law Anita and Karen as well as numerous other relatives. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, father-in-law, brother Rolf and sister Irmgard Jurke. The funeral service for Marlene was conducted from the First Lutheran Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Nolan Astley officiating. A eulogy was given by Rudy Jurke. A solo “God On The Mountain,” was sung by Marlene Risling. The hymns sung were “My Jesus I Love Thee,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” and “Lord Take My Hand and Lead Me,” accompanied on the organ by Brenda Findlay. Honorary pallbearers were: Jessica Gabourie, Jacob Schau, Alisha Wennekamp and Michelle Barnes. Active pallbearers were: Brian Jurke, Darrell Jurke, Ryan Wennekamp, Trent Wennekamp, Jordan Protsch, Jonathan Schau and Jackson Schau. Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks We would like to thank the home care girls and the staff at Dr. Cooke nursing home for their many years of excellent care. A very special thanks to Dr. Lakins for her many years of health care, friendship and for being there when Marlene needed you. Thank you Pastor Astley, Brenda Findlay, and Marlene Risling for ministering to us by word and song - it meant a great deal to us. Thank you to Rudy for the eulogy. Also thanks to the Lutheran ladies for a great lunch. We appreciated the personal care and compassion shown by Dale and the staff at McCaw Funeral Home. Thank you to all our friends and neighbors for the visits, flowers, food, and donations and most especially for your prayers.
