B I O G R A P H Y
LORENZ: Alois Alexander Lorenz passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the age of 90 years.
Alois is survived by: his loving wife Violet of Lloydminster; seven children: Carol and Jim Martens of Lloydminster, Barry Lorenz of Edmonton, Irvin Lorenz of Lloydminster, Joan and Ray Ollen of Lloydminster, Rick and Janice Lorenz of Lloydminster, Loretta and Rick Willcock of Kitscoty, Val and Barry Bittner of Calgary; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister Susie Biever of Lloydminster; two sisters-in-law: Verna Lorenz of BC, Vicky Lorenz of Lloydminster; one brother-in-law Dave and Helen Weishaar of Lloydminster as well as numerous other relatives.
A prayer service for Alois was conducted from St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
The funeral service for Alois was conducted from St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Jan Sobkowicz officiating.
A eulogy was given by: Glen Lorenz.
Special music was by Nicole Lorenz.
Leader of Songs was Marlene Risling accompanied by Carmelita Swan and trumpeter Mel Risling.
Honorary pallbearers were Granddaughters: Janet Ollen, Jenny Ollen, Becky Ollen, Megan Laws and Nicole Lorenz.
Active pallbearers were Grandsons: Justin Martens, Kevin Martens, Brad Ollen, Michael Laws, Dick Willcock, Troy Willcock, Jeff Lorenz, Chris Lorenz and Greg Laws.
Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements.
Card of Thanks
We would like to thank Dr. Van Vuuren for the years of caring for Alois. Also nurses and staff on the 3rd floor. Thank you for the baking, cards, flowers and many acts of kindness. Thank you Father Lawrence for coming to the hospital and Father Jan for conducting the service. Thanks you Glen for the eulogy, the K of C for the honorguard and C.W.L. for the lunch.
