Marjorie Rose Harbin passed away peacefully in the Lloydminster Hospital in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the age of 86 years. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her son Gary and Jo of Ponoka; daughter Carol of Lloydminster; grandchildren: Bruce and Tara Harbin of Ponoka, Carrie and Jordy Burks of Canmore; great grandchildren: Sadie Dodds, Levi, Mya and Ella Harbin; sister-in-law Betty Harbin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband Tom Harbin of almost forty years in April of 1984; her father, Alvin Olsen in June of 1984, her mother Melva Olsen in August of 1999 and her sister, Blanche in infancy. The funeral service was conducted from the St. John’s Anglican Church, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Canon Michael Stonhouse officiating. The eulogy was read by Dean and Donna Kemp. A tribute to Tom and Marj was read by Dr. Glenn Weir. Scripture readings were read by Bruce Harbin and Carrie Burks. The soloists were Gary Amundrud and Daryl Amundrud singing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”. The hymns sung were “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art” accompanied on the organ by Pat Skinner. The active pallbearers Vernon Priest, Earl Priest, Steve McKenzie, Greg Willett, Peter Olsen and Ardell Olsen. The interment was held in the Tangleflags Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. CARD OF THANKS The family would like to extend tremendous thanks to the wonderful caregivers, Judy Johnson, Rosemarie Grant, Madaline Mercer, and Dorinda Sunderland for providing bedside care for their mother this past month. Thank you for the cards, visits and also the prayers sent via text, e-mail and facebook during Mum’s hospital stay. Thank you Dr. DuPlooy for the many years of medical attention you gave to mum. Also, thank you to the nurses and staff at the Lloydminster Hospital, including the emergency team who worked with mum on September 30th. Thank you also to the Ambulance Attendants who gave mum several rides to the hospital. Thank you to the entire wonderful caring staff at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre over the past three years for making mum feel that she was so valued and so loved. Thank you to Canon Stonhouse for the times he spent with Mum at the Dr. Cooke, also when she was in the hospital, and for such a wonderful funeral service. Also to Dean and Donna Kemp and Dr. Glenn Weir, thank you for your eulogy and tributes. Thanks to Pat Skinner for playing the organ, Gary and Daryl Amundrud for their amazing talents, the pallbearers, the ACW for the lovely lunch, and the Tangleflags Cemetery Committee. Thank you for the phone calls, texts, e-mails and facebook condolences, the lovely flowers, cards, donations and visits made to the house. Thank you Harvey and Geraldine for always being there.
