I worked for Dave in his restaurant and he decided that we should go for a
Weekend at Kicking horse to go white water rafting. I told him
I have a terrible fear of water especially in my face. I don't even
Take showers because of it. So he decides to challenge me on it
You have to know me... I don't like being challenged. I have
Never chicken out of stuff. I take dares serious. SO... I said ur on.. I'm coming. My son Daniel
Was home visiting at the time n he said yeah. Lets go mom. How could I not!!!
So off a bunch of us went. What a long drive. We got there set up camp.. Sleeping in tents which
I hadn't done in yrs either. Never with my kids. The next day we went
For our briefing, falling backwards into the cold water. That was a tough one. But I did it.
So off we went.. Got into our raft and where do I end up... Right at the front where u end up under
water and water in the face alot. Well Dave kept encouraging me and we had a blast.
The n he says here comes your real test. Right into a big dip and under we went. Holy Crap. I thought
I was gonna drowned. I came up scared out of my wits. But so proud cause I came back up and breathing
My son was very proud of me. Dave congratulated me after we got back. That meant alot. He was such a
Cool boss.. More of a friend. Me being a cancer survivor made it all worth while.
I use to enjoy talking to their kids when I came in on days off or after
I was done working there. They were so smart. Amazing kids.
David thank you for believing in me even when I didn't. You will be missed. See u on the other side old friend.
