Moro no Brasil e li recentemente uma matéria que havia sido feita sobre a Amie na revista Reader's Digest, uma edição de 2001. Fiquei bastante emocionado com a história de superação e principalmente com o sorriso da Amie nas fotos. Hoje resolvi fazer uma pesquisa na Internet sobre a Amie e, infelizmente, fiquei sabendo da sua morte. Mesmo sem tê-la conhecido sinto que é uma pessoal vibrante e feliz, e que conseguiu passar isso para muitas pessoas que nem sequer a conheciam pessoalmente. Eu tenho certeza que a Amie está muito melhor agora, deixando o Céu muito mais brilhante com o seu sorriso. Descanse em Paz Amie e parabéns pela história da sua vida!

I am so sorry to hear of amies passing. I got to know amie while working at cafe bouchée. She was an inspiration then and to this day still is. I thought of her often. When we were kids Amie wore a pager and we all asked what it was for. Naturally, Amie quickly replied telling us that she was a stripper and she was on call. We were unsure wether to believe her or not but all night she kept with the story. She even pulled out her key chain and said "look, the girls got this made for me but the mis-spelled stripper and forgot a P in it. The key chain read "Candy Striper". To no surprise, she was a volunteer candy Striper, but we still didn't catch on for a while as she was always so convincing when she joked! Haha. She had such a great sense of humor. Love you Amie. I was so sorry to hear of Amie's passing. We became friends many years ago when we were still living in Lloydminster. I was always impressed with her courage and positive attitude in spite of the fact that she had such grave health concerns. Even when we visited her in the hospital on more than one occasion, her attitude was always positive and uplifting. The prayers of so many people surrounded her as she underwent her lung transplant. How wonderful that God granted her all these extra years to enjoy her new lease on life. I'm sure she didn't waste a minute of them......savouring them to the full! Our prayers are with all of you as you remember Amie. May God bring you comfort.
