When our children were young, we had a yearly Christmas tradition of making gingerbread houses. Each child made a house and could then choose a person to give their house to. Probably about 20 years ago now, our youngest daughter Sarah chose to give her house to Mona. (Our children had always been fascinated with the "musicalness" of Mona's last name. It was always such fun to say.) Sarah and her Dad delivered the gingerbread house to Mona at Southridge Estates. Much to our surprise, the following Christmas, and I think every Christmas till Sarah graduated from high school, there was always a small gift for Sarah. Sarah wrote to me upon hearing of Mona's move to heaven. "She was a sweet lady - now her poems about eternity are a reality". The memory of Mona's sweet spirit, twinkling smile and contentment will continue to impact lives.
