ROUTLEDGE ~ Gertrude Percina Routledge passed away at the Maidstone Health Complex on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the age of ninety-five years.
Gertrude was born near Adanac, Saskatchewan on April 11, 1919 to Sarah and Logan Fawcett.
Gertrude leaves to mourn her passing: her son, Howard (Joan) Smith of Maidstone, Saskatchewan; two grandchildren: Jodi (Louis) DeKock of Lloydminster and Jeremy Smith (Maki Taniguchi) of Edmonton, Alberta; three great-grandchildren: Louis DeKock, Sarah DeKock and Aki Smith.
Gertrude was predeceased by her first husband, John Smith; second husband, Jim Routledge; three brothers: Norman, George and Fred Fawcett; and sister, Evelyn Cearns.
The memorial service for Gertrude was conducted from McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Don Retzlaff officiating.
Jodi DeKock and Jeremy Smith gave the eulogy.
Dale Brook gave a reading.
The hymns sung, "Abide With Me," "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" were accompanied by organist, Frances Wright.
The reception followed in the Legacy Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta.
Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
