Mrs Plant's soft but strong character inspired me when I was a young mom. I am grateful for having known her.

Dear Daryl and Families and Jean & Lois and Families:
So sorry to hear about Doreen but 95 was such a great age! She'll be reunited with Ilston again! Doreen was such a lovely person. Always so happy to see everyone and have a little chat. We used to tell each other a lot of stories of days gone by, and her memory was excellent a few years back. She would even be our Sub Teacher at the Queen Elizabeth, and she was always so nice!! Diana Cheley said your mom used to board with her parents when she taught at the Westdene School (a long time ago)
It was so nice that your mom could re-connect with all our moms, whether it be on the street, or at the Cooke. You will have lots of good memories. I'm thinking she was a very busy mom with all you kids, running the North End Store, Amway etc. etc. She was always so gracious...
My condolences to all and enjoy all your good memories. Daryl, you were the best. Its a very hard job to be a caregiver!!

Doreen’ s Mother Mrs Anthony was a teacher of our Mum Avice when she was a girl. She and Doreen remained friends until Mum’s death in 2001.
Doreen shared her patience and encouragement with all of us children . When I was 12 and 13 I helped her with her 4 year old Sunday school class. Her calm and patient demeanour kept those little children engaged. It was a life lesson for me.
I remember being at your home on the north end one day when she had you boys at the table crafting sheep from cotton balls and wooden spools and paper. It was fun to watch that activity.
Mum and Ilston and Doreen shared their Amway experience for many years- including a trip to Hawaii.
Doreens deep faith will have her watching all of you continuing your lives with your legacy of her love .
Our deepest sympathy to all of you,
Nelda (Jensen) And Dennis Elko
