Obituary of Kyle Merk

Kyle Roy Merk passed away in Lloydminster, SK on November 29, 2020 at the age of 30 years. 

Kyle was born on August 13, 1990 to Tim and Joanne Merk. His sister, Terra, was 18 months old and excited to be a big sister. Kyle was a busy toddler, even mischievous and a bit of an escape artist. As Kyle grew so did his love for adventure, GT racers, bikes, skidoo's and fishing. His eagerness to win made him a natural athlete, and bit of a cheater at cards. As he grew so did his adventures. His love for bikes became a love for anything on wheels. He was a natural with tools, and spent hours in the shop. Kyle was an avid snowboarder and wake boarder; he loved the outdoors. Some of his fondest memories were spent fishing, and spending time at the lake. He was passionate about everything he did. Music played a huge roll in his life, Kyle felt things deeper than most. His thoughts and emotions ran deep and it showed in his love for his family. 

In September 1998 he got his big sister; she had waited her whole life to meet him. 

On February 25th, 2011 his greatest gift was born.....his daughter, Trinnity.

Kyle's life wasn't perfect, he had lots of heartaches and made his fair share of mistakes. This doesn't take away from the man he was or challenges he faced again and again. Kyle faced them with strength and humour. These characteristics drew people to him and made him a friend to many. 

Kyle is survived by: his parents, Tim and Joanne Merk; sister, Amanda (Mark) Kanester and their children, Aydin Anderson, Alex Anderson, Karson Kanester and Eva Kanester; sister, Terra (Tony) Le and their child, Lincoln; daughter, Trinnity; grandmother, Iris Merk; and numerous aunts and uncles. 

Kyle was predeceased by: his grandparents, Roy Merk; and Roman and Leona Hauber. 

Kyle walked through darkness but never, ever alone. He was loved endlessly and will be missed for always.

A private family service will be held in memory of Kyle.
